Tires to Energy UPDATE

A few months back I wrote a post called “Tires to Energy”. That post included information about a company called Envirotech who was trying to convert old tires into energy through intense industrial microwaves. Envirotech has since filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and has numerous violations for illegal stockpiling of tires. The tires are stored on a large piece of land near Mobile, AZ that the state of Arizona owns. The massive amount of tires have been stockpiled to close to each other making it nearly impossible for firefighters to fight should they catch fire. The ironic thing is that the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality have raised the concerns on land that the state owns. Maybe their should have been a little more oversight.
